It's like Receiver for OS X doesn't / can't / won't use the underlying hardware of the client properly (of which there is more than enough resource). How it can be so good out the box, and Receiver so poor, I have no idea?! I was absolutely gutted to see just how good it was out the box after all the time and effort I'd put into trying to resolve this issue. It's perfect out of the box with no tuning at all. The performance is absolutely FANTASTIC!! It's perfectly smooth, no image pixelation, no image degridation no frame drops, it's basically everything that Receiver for OS X isn't. What makes it even more annoying, is that despite having always worked with XenApp / XenDesktop, I've been playing with VMware Horizon 6 recently (not even the latest version with Blast Extreme), and when running the Horizon client directly on my MacBook Pro, I was astonished at the performance difference. It isn't a lack of CPU, GPU or RAM on either end, and it isn't a poor network connection or too much bandwidth being used (I actually wish it would use more bandwidth so the experience would be better, as I have plenty of bandwidth). Choppy, pixelated video / moving 3D images, degraded image quality, basically, it's all a real struggle. I've tried various Citrix policies, settings, versions, physically networked, wireless, 4G, various locations and various connections etc etc. I have no idea why it is so bad, but it always has been. It is so bad, that when running Windows on VMware Fusion on my MacBook Pro, that it still massively out performs Receiver for OS X when run on the same device, which it really shouldn't, because there is a virtualisation layer now in the way, and so no direct access to the MacBook Pro's hardware. It is free to download, and it does not require any high-quality PC.Basically, Receiver for OS X just doesn't perform anywhere near as well as Receiver for Windows. In this, you need to click on the sound playing in the background. It is worth downloading the app. It will increases your clicking speed as well. It is a very addictive and amazing app to play.
